Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure that creates an all-over skin beautification, rejuvenation, and resurfacing while promoting healthier, smoother, and more radiant skin. This clinically-proven technique lightly abrades the skin and vacuums off the dead skin cells, which in turn stimulates cell renewal and collagen growth. Dr. Deborah Farrell can perform a microdermabrasion treatment to provide you with the clear and youthful skin you desire.
Why Consider a Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is ideal for treating fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, acne, uneven skin tones, early age lines, photodamage, and pigmentation changes. A microdermabrasion may be an effective option for men and women looking for a way to rejuvenate the look of their skin with minimal downtime and a non-surgical approach.
How is a Microdermabrasion Performed?
Your microdermabrasion treatment will be performed by our Aesthetician or a highly trained staff member. The two of you will have a private consultation to determine the best treatment plan for you as well as how many sessions will be necessary to provide you with the optimal outcome.
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure and normally takes just 30 minutes to an hour to perform — hence it’s nickname, the “Lunch Hour Facial.” our Aesthetician or a highly trained staff member will carefully run the microdermabrasion device across the surface of your skin, removing dull or dead skin cells that are causing the flaws you see in your appearance. As these skin cells are gently removed and vacuumed from the surface, this process helps to stimulate your body’s natural cell renewal process and collagen production.
A series of six microdermabrasion treatments is recommended for maximum results.
Your 6th Treatment is complimentary at Farrell Plastic Surgery & Laser Center.
Our Aesthetician or a highly trained staff member may recommend combining your microdermabrasion with a Jessner’s Peel to maximize results. This treatment package includes a thorough cleansing, microdermabrasion, and the Jessner’s Peel.
It’s not a chemical, not a laser, not a surgical procedure. Instead, a gentle Parisian Peel® treatment takes about 30 minutes after which you can return immediately to your daily activities. You’ll feel minimal discomfort, only the glow of newer fresh skin. The Parisian Peel® process can reduce or even erase your fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, scars or other superficial blemishes.
What is the Recovery Process Like After a Microdermabrasion?
There will be little to no downtime following your microdermabrasion treatment. While you may experience some minor redness or sensitivity, you should feel well enough to return to your normal routine shortly after treatment. You will want to avoid any unnecessary sun exposure during this time and should wear sunscreen to keep your skin protected.
You will likely notice subtle results as soon as you leave your first microdermabrasion session. The effects of your treatment will continue to improve over time as new cell and collagen production occurs. Undergoing up to six treatment sessions can provide you with the optimal results you are looking for.
